چکیده

Two orthogonal non-covalent binding sites, namely metal-ligand complexation of Ru and bipyridine and intermolecular hydrogen bonding, facilitate the self-assembly of a new type of supramolecular dendrimers.

Integrative self-sorting: a versatile strategy for the construction of complex supramolecular architecture.

Large protein-sized synthetic supramolecular architecture is rare and certainly has not yet achieved the structural and functional complexity of biomolecules. As multiple, identical copies of a few building blocks are repetitively used, a highly symmetrical architecture results with limitations in function. In marked contrast, functional structures in nature are often assembled with high geomet...

Supramolecular dendrimer capsules by cooperative binding.

We exploit the unique features of dendrimers as molecular nanospheres with many peripheral binding sites to show that maximizing cooperative binding enables a novel modular self-assembly approach to construct supramolecular capsules.

Self-assembly of L-glutamate based aromatic dendrons through the air/water interface: morphology, photodimerization and supramolecular chirality.

A series of dendrimers containing focal aromatic rings, ranged from phenyl, naphthyl, anthryl to pyrenyl, and the l-glutamate peripheral groups were designed and their self-assembly through the air/water interface was investigated. It has been found that although these dendrimers have no long alkyl chains, some of the dendrimers could form stable monolayers at the air/water interface due to an ...

Generating new specific RNA interaction interfaces using C-loops.

New RNA interaction interfaces are reported for designing RNA modules for directional supramolecular self-assembly. The new interfaces are generated from existing ones by inserting C-loops between the interaction motifs that mediate supramolecular assembly. C-Loops are new modular motifs recently identified in crystal structures that increase the helical twist of RNA helices in which they are i...

Dendritic structures within dendritic structures: dendrimer-induced formation and self-assembly of nanoparticle networks.

15-Membered tri-olefinic azamacrocycles as end-groups of phosphorus-containing dendrimers from generation 1 to 4 are used for obtaining Pt nanoparticles in mild conditions; remarkable and unprecedented branched supramolecular assemblies composed of dendrimers and coalesced Pt nanoparticles are obtained, which become larger for higher dendrimer generations, affording for the first time a very un...
